She collaborates with the biggest brands and sells her collections internationally. Isabel Deprince is originally from Belgium, with a charming accent, and was a model for 12 years. She is now an artist whose exclusive subject is the horse, which she explores endlessly: painting, oil, collages, watercolors, charcoal, digital art... With great poetry, she pays tribute to the only animal that, in her eyes, embodies as much elegance and sensitivity as it does strength and power. Horses have always held a central place in her life: a refuge during her youth, they later became therapeutic after the death of her brother from cancer five years ago. That was when her artistic journey began, her brother being her first subject of expression, before finding in horses the strength to overcome depression. Her canvases, once dark, gradually filled with color, which now occupies a prominent place in her life. Numerous collaborations allow her to step out of her artistic comfort zone and make the transition from her life as a model, where she wore the clothes, to the one she lives now, where she illustrates entire worlds. She is also an ambassador for Dada clothing, a brand of strong women who create and modernize their own universe—just as she aims to do with her art. Isabel has many projects lined up for the fall: the exhibition of her Day Dreaming collection, dedicated to her brother and to horses (with a special preview), and the publication of her book devoted to loss and healing through art and horses.
Deauville lights up as the grand month of August approaches, and we are privileged witnesses from our offices; the starting point for pre-inspections of ARQANA yearlings sales, the epicenter of gathering and holidaymakers from all over the world, and the arrival point for the first horses at the training center and beaches in preparation for the racing meeting. A whirlwind of an intense and memorable month lies ahead. In August, Deauville also becomes the capital of the horse, in all the beauty of its various breeds and disciplines. This eleventh issue of our magazine is a testament to the cross-disciplinary spirit dear to GALORAMA: paying tribute to a racing figure who revolutionized the industry and achieved the remarkable feat of reaching for the stars in all three disciplines, flat, NH and trotting racing. In August, AUCTAV will host the Jean-Pierre Dubois Sale at Haras du Bois Roussel, an opportunity to look back on the journey of this visionary horseman, tireless worker and victory-driven competitor, a great breeder whose mark is found in many international bloodlines. Enjoy your reading and have a wonderful month of August!
