into a short gallop. Enhanced by the Grand Palais setting, the scene exudes sheer elegance. A seasoned equestrian and Chanel’ s new ambassador, Charlotte carries herself with regal grace. She wears a riding helmet and a black tweed jacket with short sleeves, scattered with sequins that evoke a starry night. The handpicked guest list( Sofia Coppola, Pharrell Williams, Vanessa Paradis, Angèle …), half still masked due to COVID, captures the moment in a flurry of smartphones aimed at the duo. Many see this ride as an obvious nod to Coco Chanel’ s love for horses. The moment is also a tribute to actor Gaspard Ulliel, who had passed away a few days earlier. STELLA MCCARTNEY’ S“ HORSE POWER”
Fashion Week 2023. In the arena of the École Militaire( Paris 7 th), the country’ s oldest riding school, seven Camargue horses enter the runway to the sound of Feed the Horse by Fagget Fairys. No bridle, no lead rope. Total freedom under the watchful eye of Jean-François Pignon, one of the world’ s most renowned horse trainers. The audience instantly falls under the spell. Models follow behind on the dirt track, walking alongside this living spectacle of gallops, rolls, arabesques, and graceful reclines.“ Equestrian wardrobe,” titles Vogue after Stella McCartney’ s show, named Horse Power. A rider and ranch owner herself, the daughter of the legendary Paul once again declares her love for horses. Like her mother, she is vegetarian and uses no fur, feathers, or leather in her collections, where the horse is a recurring emblem.“ If I could, I’ d travel only on horseback,” she often says. That same year, Stella McCartney also left a mark not with a show, but with a stunning Winter campaign. Jean-François Pignon’ s white horses posed this time in a Camargue salt desert alongside supermodel Kendall Jenner, captured by the lens of Harley Weir.
