There was a large increase in one million dollar spenders, with 120 in 2025 compared to 96 in 2024.
TATTERSALLS IRE- LAND SEPTEMBER YEARLINGS – PART I – 23 / 24 SEPTEMBER More records were broken at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling, with the two-day sale achieving considerable increases on previous renewals. The € 18,759,500 turnover marked a 51 % improvement on the 2024 numbers, with the figure surpassing 13 million for the first time in the sale’ s history. Both the average(€ 42,635) and median(€ 37,000) were record highs, 48 and 54 percent respectively up on the previous year. The Castlebridge Consignment ended the sale as leading consigner, selling 37 horses for a new record of € 1,933,000. Bill Dwan of The Castlebridge Consignment said:“ It has been an incredible two days, superb trade, we have never been as busy here showing and we have been coming here a long time now. We were delighted to offer the top lot on be- hablf of breeder Hamwood Stud – he is a superb colt and was very well produced by the farm.“ The success on the track has been so strong, and we have all been reaping the benefit this week. It is good for the business, long may it continue, and it has been a great effort by Tattersalls Ireland and ITM to get so many international clients to the sale.” Trainer George Scott was responsible for purchasing the top lot of the sale, a Starspangledbanner colt for € 200,000, out of a half-sister to a Group 3 winner. Scott, who also purchased his Deutches St Leger( Gr. 3) winner Caballo De Mar, at the same sale said:“ He has been bought for owner Gary White, who bought Command The Stars here last year. This colt is a big physical, by an excellent stallion, out of a Galileo mare and from a really good consignor.
