IN THE EYE OF
ARNAUD KASPER
 PAGE 2
A leading figure in equestrian sculpture, Arnaud Kasper draws on his encounters and experiences with horses to create works that fascinate and captivate. His interest in horses dates back to childhood, inspired by stories such as Crin Blanc, in which he identified with the child and his wild, free horse. His first equestrian sculpture, Zingaro, representing Bartabas’ horse, marked the beginning of a prestigious career, with commissions in France and abroad, including for the King of Saudi Arabia. Paradoxically, he began riding only after creating his first works, at the Société d’ Équitation de Paris, where his encounter with Jean-Pierre Tuloup profoundly enriched his inspiration. Through riding, he approached the horse differently: through touch and movement, he grasped its proportions and sought harmony in his sculptures. This immersion led him to create Le Cheval des Lumières, a rearing horse in which energy, vitality, strength, and fragility intertwine, echoing the essence of Man. Kasper leads various projects, notably in horseracing with the creation of the Triple
Crown trophy in 2013. Since then, many of his works have come to life, some of them displayed at the Bois des Arts, a sculpture park he envisioned in the Vexin. There, visitors can discover his latest equestrian creation, Rossinante, installed on an old windmill, paying tribute to Don Quixote. The park will open during the European Days of Crafts, from April 7 to 12, 2026.
