IN THE EYE OF

LINA IMAGES
BY MARIE-HÉLÈNE BLANCHET
This internationally acclaimed photographer has made her mark through a singular vision of imagery, blending cinematic aesthetics with immersion in the wild.“ Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I was fascinated by their presence, their sensitivity and their wisdom.” For nearly seven years, she has lived in rhythm with Iceland’ s extreme and unpredictable weather conditions. The wind, rain, snow and ever-changing light have profoundly shaped her artistic perspective.“ Iceland has shaped my work in almost every possible way. Living here has taught me to slow down, adapt and appreciate both calm and chaos equally. Every herd, every landscape, every moment carries a different energy and emotion.” In her work, the horse is never simply part of the landscape. A connection emerges between the animal and the nature surrounding it.“ I’ m constantly inspired by the contrasts they embody: their strength and gentleness, their independence and their deep social bond. Icelandic horses move through these landscapes with such confidence and instinct that many moments already feel cinematic without needing to be staged.” Despite recognition from the professional world, her main priority remains conveying emotion and reaching people through her images.“ What matters most to me today is creating images that truly make people feel something. If a photograph can evoke emotion, create a connection, or remind someone of the beauty and power that exist in the real world, then that means a great deal to me.” Instagram: @ linaimages Website: linaimages. com

FEATS
Can feats be repeated endlessly? Aidan O’ Brien once again demonstrated his unrivalled mastery last Sunday by producing a spectacular 1-2-3 finish in the Qatar Prix du Jockey Club, recreating the magical combination of the 2016 Qatar Prix de l’ Arc de Triomphe( Gr. 1) with Found, Highland Reel and Order of St. George. An achievement that makes him the first, and still the only, trainer to accomplish such a feat in the 186 runnings of the French Derby. If further proof were needed, it confirms his status as the undisputed global benchmark, just seven months after becoming the most successful trainer in Breeders’ Cup history across the Atlantic. His record continues to defy belief, including the highest number of Group 1 victories in a single season( 28), a clean sweep of the five Irish Classics in one year( 2007), and more than one hundred winners at Royal Ascot even before the 2026 edition gets underway in a few weeks’ time. And when France’ s own hero, Francis-Henri Graffard, himself the author of remarkable achievements, struggles to find the words after the Jockey Club in GALORAMA Inside’ s vox-pop interview, saying:“ He’ s the one you have to beat every time. We all know that,” the respect he commands becomes all the greater. How much further can the story still be written? How many new summits remain to be conquered? Can feats be achieved endlessly? One thing is certain: they are written in the ink of talent, sweat, dedication, hard work and passion, and they endure in our memories through an emotion that transcends the centuries— the same emotion found in the stories featured on this front page. The emotion shown by Pierre Talvard( Haras du Cadran), breeder of Constitution River, winner of the 2026 Qatar Prix du Jockey Club( Gr. 1), is every bit as beautiful as the performance delivered by his“ baby”, superbly recounted in the latest episode of GALORAMA Inside. Watch it if you have not already done so: the emotion on display there gives true meaning and nobility to the word feat,
