G. So in 2026, we’ ll still see you in the saddle?
C. S. I’ ll still be riding for quite a few years yet. For several months now, I’ ve regained the drive and the passion. I went through a period when I was doing things half-heartedly and it showed. Physically, I feel very, very good. In the saddle, I think I’ ve never been stronger. Hervé( Naggar) has found the rides and the words to keep me balanced all the time. I want to stop at the peak of my career, that’ s for sure, but why say you are going to stop when everything is going so well?

THOROUGHBRED CELEBRATED IN DEAUVILLE ON THE“ WEEK-END DU RÉFORMÉ” BY AU-DELÀ DES PISTES
Au-Delà des Pistes will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2026. The association was born from the initiative of Nemone Routh, Racing Manager of the Aga Khan Studs, and Lisa-Jane Graffard, then Godolphin France representative, with the aim of promoting the thoroughbred to the general public and showcasing its versatility after its racing career. Recognized as being of public interest by the State since 2021, the association became an official partner of France Galop in 2019 and has since taken on the financial and administrative responsibility of retraining racehorses. To date, more than 2,000 horses have benefited from Au-Delà des Pistes’ retraining stable network and the protection of France Galop through the usage restriction that prevents them from racing again in France and in partner countries.
THIRD EDITION OF THE“ WEEK-END DU RÉ- FORMÉ” IN DEAUVILLE
Inaugurated in 2023, the“ Week-End du Réformé” took place in Deauville from August 21 to 24. The purpose of this event is to bring together former racehorses and their new riders, to create a meeting point between the racing world and the equestrian sports world, and to showcase to the general public the remarkable versatility of these horses. On this occasion, former jockeys put their boots back on for an exclusive race won by Anthony Lecordier, who donated his winnings to the association. The following day, at the Pôle International du Cheval Longines – Deauville, jockeys Théo Bachelot, Mickaël Barzalona, Eddy Hardouin, Hugo Journiac, Augustin Madamet, Rosario Mangione, Coralie Pacaut and Delphine Santiago joined forces for a horse-ball tournament, accompanied by professional players … and retained thoroughbreds. Saturday, August 22, was dedicated to competitions reserved for retained racehorses, with classes in dressage, conformation and gaits, equifun, and show jumping. The day gathered more than 70 entries, a number steadily increasing since the first edition. Finally, on Sunday morning, over 20 retained racehorses and their riders gathered on Deauville beach for a seaside ride.
