progressively over more than forty years. Morocco’ s commitment to the development of Purebred Arabian racehorses is increasingly strong and has been reaffirmed, among other things, by the appointment of Hicham Debbagh as Vice-President of IFAHR( International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing) during the Qatar Prix de l’ Arc de Triomphe weekend. Morocco is therefore the country, after Turkey, that organizes the most races dedicated to Purebred Arabian. SOREC places particular importance on this. This appointment is thus a logical next step, the result of the many efforts and initiatives supporting this sector in Morocco( led by both SOREC and Moroccan racing professionals), in addition to the honor and trust it represents. The MIM also hosted the new executive committee meeting of IFAHR. One of the objectives discussed was expanding the reach and organization of Purebred Arabian racing beyond the Maghreb – Middle East – Europe circle, while continuing to support these regions where, despite strong tradition, challenges may be encountered, such as in England, for example. The MIM is a perfect opportunity to highlight the joint work of SOREC and the industry professionals involved in the Purebred Arabain racehorse sector. Sunday is the day dedicated to them. Four major races are organized: the Listed Prix IFAHR Cup with 780,000 MAD( approx. € 72,000), the Grand Prix H. R. H. Prince Moulay Rachid, also Listed and worth 1,100,000 MAD( approx. € 102,000), the Grand Prix H. R. H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, a Group 3 race worth 1,340,000 MAD( approx.
€ 123,000), and the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a Group 2 race worth 2,670,000 MAD( approx. € 245,000). SOREC hopes that the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, currently a Group 2, will soon obtain Group 1 status. Many foreign runners participate in the MIM, which also hosts a Fegentri race. The institution has set up a program to facilitate their participation, with particular attention paid to the reception of both horses and connections so that their experience unfolds under optimal conditions. In parallel, SOREC is carrying out a strong investment and support program for genetics. The purchase of Ch’ ezza( Af Albahar) during the ARQANA online sale on November 13, in partnership with Haras de Thouars, supports this policy. Securing the best genetics helps ensure the sustainability of the sector. SOREC also subsidizes 50 % of the cost of imported semen, which represents a major effort. Regarding broodmares, if the mare is black type, she is eligible for financial assistance. Breeding is the foundation of everything! During the MIM, French participants distinguished themselves over the two days. The 16 th stage of the Défi du Galop – Grand Prix His Majesty King Mohammed VI was won by Agador( Caravaggio), ridden by Guillaume Guedj-Gay for the Kevin Moysset & Charley Lauffer partnership and trained by Aurélie Vigreux. Moshrif( Dahess) won the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI( Gr. 1 – PA) after battling with Al Zeer. Representing Mr. Al Kuwari Khalifa Bin Sheail, the son of late Dahess is trained by Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte and was ridden by Guillaume Guedj- Gay, who secured his sixth Group victory on this occasion.

NOVEMBER REVIEW
BY JACOB PRITCHARD-WEBB

When I look back at what’ s happened in the world of French jump racing in November, I scratch my head on where to begin. Let’ s begin in the discipline which is close to my heart which is the cross-country races and the final grand cross for the year in France was the Listed contest held over 5400m at Compiegne. An established field of 8 went to post including last year’ s winner Iceo Madrik for David Cottin in the hands of Johnny Charron. He took up the early running of the racing travelling very strongly over the first few jumps like a steaming bull, he was back on his favored patch of turf. Following closely was a fellow stalwart and legend of the discipline, Donne le change who won the prep race previously. Never far away from the pace, Pierre riding for his father let his horse roll and take up the lead when the mischievous Iceo Madrik refused at the drop bank, something he has done before. With him out, it looked to be a three-horse race between, Klitchko de Belair, Great du Large and Shawinigan. The last time they had all met was a month before in one of the regional grand crosses at Haras du Pin, on that occasion it was former
