Young farmers under 40 may also benefit from a flat-rate additional payment of around € 4,300 per year for five years. High Environmental Value( HVE) certification provides a preferred route to access the higher level, ensuring support of around € 80 per hectare across all eligible land. Beyond this annual payment, HVE also offers a significant tax advantage: as soon as the farm holds at least 0.1 BPS entitlement, it may qualify for a specific tax credit of € 2,500 in the first year.
The second pillar: supporting disadvantaged areas and ecology. Second-pillar support targets specific commitments. The compensatory allowance for natural constraints( ANC) is crucial for farms located in disadvantaged or mountainous areas. It requires a minimum of 5 livestock units( LU) of herbivores( active breeding stock and equines aged 6 months to 3 years not declared in training under racing codes, with SIRE numbers required) and 3 hectares of forage area. Agrienvironmental and climate measures( AECM), particularly those promoting forage self-sufficiency, and aid for conversion to organic farming( CAB), complement this pillar. Finally, the protection of endangered breeds( PRM) specifically concerns nine draught breeds and certain saddle or regional breeds.
Administrative vigilance. Any process begins with obtaining a PACAGE number from the DDTM, which must be anticipated ahead of the declaration period from April 1 to May 15. It should be noted that payment of these subsidies remains strictly conditional on compliance with animal welfare standards, public health regulations, and Good Agricultural and Environmental Conditions( GAEC). Any breach may result in financial penalties.

TATTERSALLS BREEZE-UP SALE – 14 / 15 APRIL Although turnover was down by nearly 400,000 Guineas from the 2025 renewal, the 2026 Tattersalls Breeze Up Sale continued to be popular at the top end of the market with a record-equaling eleven Lots making 300,000 Guineas or more. A Starspangledbanner filly, consigned by Egmont Stud, realized the top lot of 900,000 and was sold to bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud on behalf of Shaikh Khalid and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamed Al Khalifa’ s Victorious Forever.

It is a team effort picking them, but his involvement is huge and he makes up his own mind.“ I did not think she would make so much, but that is a horse sale for you. You always have to go the extra mile when you see one you really like. It is fantastic that Victorious Forever is here; there is so much going on in the world and it is to be hugely admired that they are participating. It shows how much they love their racing here.” Mehmas remained popular with breeze-up purchasers, with a colt out of Superiority making 550,000, the second highest Lot of the sale. The dam is a half-sister to the speedy multiple Group 1 winning mare Campanelle and the colt had caught the eye with a fast breeze. He was purchased by Richard Brown as a possible Royal Ascot candidate.“ Again, it is all about the breeze and this colt did an exceptional breeze,” he said.“ The first time I saw him I thought he was quite a nice colt, but the more I saw him, the more I liked him and he did a real show out there. It looks like he has got a great temperament, he seems a very straightforward colt, and is by a top sire who can get you a really early one.” Seven Lots by Mehmas were sold during the course of the
