ROBUST UK EXTENDS ITS RISER-DOR RANGE
|
ROBUST UK, a leading manufacturer of steel door solutions, has announced that it has added a fire-rated and smoke-tested double doorset option to its RISER-DOR range.
Now available as double doorsets with up to one hour of fire resistance, RISER-DOR provides vital protection by helping to contain the spread of fire and smoke while maintaining safe access to essential building services.
RISER-DOR has also been independently smoke-tested to BS EN 1634-3, for both its single and double doors, further extending its appeal for use in commercial, educational and industrial settings.
Sitting flush within the wall, RISER-DOR provides discreet and quick access to services such as electrical wiring,
|
plumbing and HVAC systems, which are housed within vertical shafts in multi-storey buildings.
Designed to protect against both fire and smoke, RISER- DOR delivers enhanced safety performance for service shaft applications where maintaining compartmentation is crucial.
Fire-rated to E120 for single doorsets and E60 for double doorsets, RISER-DOR helps preserve the integrity of the service shaft by preventing the passage of fire and smoke between floors. Its bi-directional fire performance means it can both contain a fire within the shaft and prevent flames from entering the opening, helping to protect essential building services and support safer evacuation routes, and is therefore compliant with Approved Document B.
|
Manufactured from Magnelis ® steel, RISER-DOR offers superior corrosion resistance and is available from Robust with a warranty of up to 10 years. The material forms a self-healing protective layer on cut edges, significantly enhancing durability and extending the product’ s lifecycle.
Robust’ s RISER-DOR solution provides a modern look that seamlessly blends with the interior, with concealed pivot hinges and frames, and minimal visible hardware. All while maintaining full functionality with a three-point locking system operated with a T-bar key.
Each RISER-DOR is made to order to fit exact specifications and can be polyester powder-coated as standard, finished in any colour to achieve a modern appearance.

The Accufit system, along with the new installation videos to further promote ease and fitting confidence, demonstrates the fire safety hardware supplier’ s continuous commitment to improving fire safety standards.
Fire doors and fire door hardware are essential to the safeguarding of life and property, but even the toughest components can wear down over time. Particularly in busy corridors and public spaces, hardware can wear out or become damaged, reducing its effectiveness. That’ s why regular, competent inspection is crucially important, as an ineffective self-closing device can prevent a door from seating correctly in its frame.
To reduce risk and maintain safety, the responsible person must schedule routine checks and, in HMOs, ensure annual inspections of entrance doors and self-closing devices. These regular inspections should be thorough, and a qualified assessor must verify that hinges, seals, latches, gap dimensions, closing mechanisms, signage, and certification are all present and functioning as intended.
