Usually a real force in the WorldSSP300 category the first KTM entry in this class arrived way back in 2018. The Austrian company’s RC 390 R single cylinder has had modifications to its roadbike base over the years in this most standard of full FIM World Championship classes. Most recently it took Kawasaki’s 2023 champion Jeffrey Buis to two race wins, in 2024. Buis and Phillip Tonn will be KTM’s two on-track representatives in 2025, with the Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing team (based in Germany) operating this important orange-painted addition to a strong grid once more.
This ambitious manufacturer was welcomed into the WorldSSP300 fold in 2023, competing with a very race oriented 321 RR-S single cylinder machine. This year they continue with their 2024 riding line-up of Marc Garcia and Julio Garcia in the official team. Run out of Spain it is called the KOVE Factory Team. As the Kove investment expands once again there will be a second Kove team for the Chinese manufacturer, as the Irish-based Team#109 Retro Traffic Kove squad brings two more Spanish riders, Daniel Mogeda and Bernat Fernandez, onto the grid. Julio won Kove’s first race in 2024.
