Englishman Vickers joins WorldSBK straight out of the British Superbike Championship scene. He will be a full-season rookie in 2025 but he raced in three WorldSBK races at Most in 2022, for the TPR Kawasaki squad. His BSB results have moved onwards and upwards in the past two seasons, finishing eighth and fifth in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Seven of his nine career BSB race wins were earned during the 2024 title fight. Worth remembering that the Motocorsa Ducati WorldSBK team has helped Axel Bassani to be the top Independent Rider - twice - in the recent past.
Despite being a former British Supersport Champion and 2013’s WorldSSP champion (with Yamaha) Sam Lowes spent most of his international career in the MotoGP™ paddock. Several strong Moto2 seasons sandwiched a single MotoGP™ year, until 2024, when Sam and his current ELF Marc VDS Ducati squad joined the WorldSBK paddock. It was a tough debut in WorldSBK, even for a former WorldSSP champ, but a new approach and some changes inside his team are in place for the 2025 season. He set one fastest lap in a race last year, although he will be out for much more this time around.
