New campaign – Right Support, Right Time: Unlocking the Power of OT – launching in OT Week 2025

We know occupational therapy has the biggest impact when it’s part of prevention, early intervention and community-based care – not just when things reach crisis point.

That’s why we’re launching our new campaign to position occupational therapy as a proactive solution to health and care challenges by encouraging a shift to prevention-focused care to helps ease pressure across systems.

At the heart of this campaign – Right Support, Right Time: Unlocking the Power of OT – is a clear purpose: to position occupational therapy as central to the future of health, education and social care.

We want to show how OTs deliver the right support at the right time – preventing problems before they escalate and helping people live healthier, more independent lives.

This campaign is designed to drive change – not just in visibility, but in how occupational therapy is understood and embedded across systems. We’re pushing for a shift in mindset – from reactive care to prevention-focused systems that intervene earlier and more effectively.

We want to give OTs a stronger voice, empower them to advocate locally and nationally, and build a clearer case for investment by showcasing impact through real stories and evidence.

It’s also about laying the foundation for longterm change – influencing how occupational therapy is commissioned and delivered across health, education and social care.

And the timing is critical. Health and care systems are under pressure, prevention is a national priority, and occupational therapy is part of the solution – but still under-recognised.

This campaign helps us change that – by making OT visible, valued and central to future planning. As an RCOT member, you have exclusive access to a comprehensive set of campaign resources to support our annual campaign. These materials are designed to help you:

Please wait until 3 November to start using the campaign materials – that’s when the campaign officially launches.

This campaign is about more than raising awareness – it’s about influencing change. We’re asking you to use these resources to speak to the people who can help make that change happen – managers, commissioners, local leaders, educators and policy leads.
