The final sector at Misano has provided us with some grandstand finishes over the years. WorldSBK and MotoGP™ legend Marco Melandri thinks this is a particular kind of challenge for any rider.“ For me, the last sector is very difficult now, but I really like it,” said the 22-times WorldSBK race winner.“ They are difficult because you have to keep a high corner speed, but also you have to pick up the bike and get on the throttle. Also, in the last lap, it is very tricky. You have to be smart to have already tried a line to protect your position for the last lap before the race. Not so many riders think about that, but it is very important.”

L’ ultimo settore di Misano ci ha regalato nel corso degli anni alcuni arrivi da applausi. La leggenda del WorldSBK e della MotoGP™ Marco Melandri ritiene che questo settore rappresenti un tipo di sfida particolare per qualsiasi pilota.“ Per me, l’ ultimo settore è molto difficile, ma mi piace molto”, ha detto il 22 volte vincitore di gare nel WorldSBK. E’ difficile perché devi mantenere un’ alta velocità in curva, ma devi anche alzare la moto e dare gas. E farlo nell’ ultimo giro è molto insidioso. Devi essere intelligente e aver già deciso prima della gara quale traiettoria tenere per proteggere la tua posizione nell’ ultimo giro. Pochi piloti ci pensano, mentre invece è molto importante”.

This year’ s great Italian hope, Nicolo Bulega, is a fan of faster corners and they don’ t come much faster in short circuit racing than the Curvone- which he regards as one stand-alone challenge.“ I like the fastest corner, the Curvone, because normally I like faster and longer corners more than slower ones,” he stated.“ There are two more right-hand corners afterwards, which I also like, but there is time to take Curvone( as a single corner) before you get to those.”

La grande speranza italiana di quest’ anno, Nicolò Bulega, è un appassionato di curve veloci e non ce ne sono più veloci del Curvone, che considera una sfida a sé stante nelle gare.“ Mi piace la curva più veloce, il Curvone, perché di solito io preferisco le curve più veloci e lunghe a quelle più lente”, ha dichiarato.“ Ci sono altre due curve a destra dopo, che mi piacciono anch’ esse, ma c’ è tutto il tempo per affrontare il Curvone( come curva singola) prima di arrivarci”.
