It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this round of the 2025 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship.
Following a hugely dramatic 2024 season that saw Toprak Razgatlıoğlu finally regain the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship crown after finishing runner-up in 2022 and 2023, this year the Turkish superstar will attempt to become just the fourth rider in the sport’s history to win three or more titles.
After a major redesign of the 2024 Official Race Programme format we have taken an evolutionary approach in 2025 to make it as informative and entertaining as ever.
However, the twenty-eight-year-old will not be the only rider aiming to accomplish this rare feat and his Spanish rival Álvaro Bautista – Champion in 2022 and 2023 – will also be aiming to complete his hat-trick this season, although with a world-class field comprising riders from nine nations assembling to do battle neither rider can afford to rest on their laurels.
With the WorldSBK paddock featuring production derived machines in all our categories there is an ongoing requirement to ensure fair competition for all manufacturers and teams. To this end the FIM is introducing fuel flow controls for the WorldSBK class this season, after extensive testing in real race situations throughout 2024.
Getting under way in February at Australia’s Phillip Island, the twelve-round series will then return to Europe where it will be decided at eleven of the continent’s premier circuits, eventually signing off at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto in Spain in October.
As ever, I offer my sincere thanks to all the competing manufacturers, teams and riders, plus our valued sponsors and partners, for continuing their close relationships with WorldSBK. An equally great level of thanks goes out to the respective National and Local Governments, the FIM, all the host venues, marshals, volunteers and support staff for these vital roles they play across each and every WorldSBK season.

È per me un grande piacere darvi il benvenuto a questo round del MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship 2025.
Dopo una stagione 2024 estremamente entusiasmante che alla fine ha visto Toprak Razgatlioğlu riconquistare la corona del campionato mondiale MOTUL FIM Superbike, dopo due secondi posti ottenuti nel 2022 e nel 2023, quest’anno la superstar turca tenterà di diventare il quarto pilota nella storia di questo campionato a vincere tre o più titoli.
Dopo che nel 2024 abbiamo attuato una profonda riprogettazione del format del programma ufficiale delle gare, nel 2025 abbiamo adottato un approccio evolutivo per renderlo più informativo e divertente che mai.
Tuttavia, il ventottenne non sarà l’unico pilota a cercare di compiere questa rara impresa in quanto anche il suo rivale, lo spagnolo Álvaro Bautista, campione nel 2022 e nel 2023, punterà a completare la sua tripletta in questa stagione, ma in uno schieramento di livello mondiale, composto da piloti di nove nazioni che si riuniscono per darsi battaglia, nessuno dei due piloti può permettersi di adagiarsi sugli allori.
Nel paddock del WorldSBK, che presenta moto derivate dalla produzione in tutte le categorie, è costante la richiesta di garantire una competizione leale ed equilibrata per tutti i produttori ed i team. A tal fine in questa stagione, la FIM sta introducendo controlli del flusso di carburante per la classe WorldSBK, dopo aver effettuato test approfonditi in reali situazioni di gara per tutto il 2024.
La serie di dodici round inizierà a febbraio a Phillip Island in Australia, per poi tornare in Europa, dove verrà decisa in undici dei principali circuiti del continente, e si concluderà sul Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto in Spagna a ottobre.
