Indian owner for Senn
CDMO Granules India has agreed to acquire Senn Chemicals , a Swiss specialist in liquid- and solid-phase peptide synthesis in a deal that should close within 1H , subject to regulatory approvals . Terms were not disclosed .
The two companies have already been collaborating on two GLP-1- based APIs for anti-diabetic and antiobesity therapeutics , a booming area in which Granules wants to expand . “ By integrating Senn ’ s expertise , Granules aims to strengthen its position in contract manufacturing and enhance its R & D-driven peptide platform ,” the firm said .
Senn operates an ISO 9001:2015- certified facility , which complies with cGMP standards . This is regularly inspected by Swissmedic and is thus recognised by the US FDA under the two countries ’ mutual recognition agreement . The company is active in the cosmetics , amino acid derivatives and theragnostic markets in addition to pharmaceuticals .

Dow cuts back Dow has announced multiple actions to achieve $ 1 billion in cost savings on an annual run-rate through , with $ 500- 700 million coming in direct costs , mainly purchased services and third-party contract labour , plus about 1,500 job cuts . It will take a $ 250-325 million charge in Q1 , primarily for severance and related benefit costs , and will incur $ 20-30 million in costs to implement this .
Pilot Chemical grows on two fronts
Pilot Chemical is to expand production of anionic surfactants at its largest site in Middletown , Ohio . The actions will comprise a series of debottlenecking activities , which have already begun , followed by installing a new sulfonation reactor train based on air / SO 3 technology , which is due to go online in early 2027 .
This will more than double the volume of alpha olefin sulfonate the company supplies to the household , industrial and institutional , and personal care markets , much of which customer base is in the immediate vicinity . It is said to complement the previous expansion of the firm ’ s proprietary ice-cold sulfonation technology capacity at Middletown in 2024 .
Pilot subsequently announced a partnership with Kao Corporation for a new sustainable surfactant technology . This will use Kao ’ s technology and feedstock supply , while Pilot will be the exclusive marketing channel and sulfonation partner for North America and will produce its Bio IOS biobased internal olefin sulfonates on a commercial scale at Middletown . Bio IOS is claimed to provide excellent performance properties , such as water solubility and surface activity , for use as primary or secondary surfactants in a variety of applications , including laundry , dish , hard surface cleaning and personal care applications . Commercial quantities will be available starting in 2026 .
IADC opened Near the 20th anniversary of its presence in India , where it employs about 800 , Lanxess has opened its India Application Development Centre ( IADC ) at Thane , Mumbai . This integrates expertise from two key businesses in India , Lubricant Additives and Material Protection Products , and will enable the company to develop new products tailored to the needs of local customers .
New alcoholates plant BASF is investing a “ mid-doubledigit million-euro amount ” on a new plant for sodium methylate and potassium methylate at its main verbund site at Ludwigshafen . Due to start up in 2H 2027 , this will replace an existing facility . The company is a major supplier of alcoholates , which are used as catalysts and reactants in various industries , mainly biodiesel , pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals .
