Indovinya completes buy Indorama business division Indovinya has completed the acquisition of Cargill Bioindustrial ’ s Kemelix and Flowsolve brands of demulsification and flow assurance products for oil and gas applications , and an R & D facility in Houston , Texas . The company said that this “ strengthens Indovinya ’ s speciality surfactants offering and solutions growth trajectory ".
HPAPI expansion for AGC Driven by growing demand , Japanese CDMO AGC Pharma Chemicals is to expand its HPAPI capabilities in Barcelona , adding new R & D , IPC and QC laboratories and a manufacturing facility with reactors volumes of 1.5 m 3 . This , the company said , will adapt its entire development and manufacturing chain to OEB5 standards ( 0.1 – 1 µ g / m 3 over an eight-hour shift ).
Ten-point plan to simplify REACH
CEFIC has published a ten-point action plan aimed at simplifying REACH in the run-up to the European Commission ’ s planned ‘ targeted revision ’ of the flagship EU regulation . CEFIC said that the plan “ brings forward concrete proposals to simplify rules , streamline processes , and foster innovation , all while upholding robust standards for safety and environmental protection ”. Key points include
• Predictable & evidence-based regulations , with transparent timelines and decisions grounded in robust assessment
• Avoiding unnecessary administrative requirements and leveraging existing legal mechanisms for chemical risk management
• Improving data requirements and processes , including the adoption of New Approach Methodologies for chemical safety assessments
• Ensuring fair enforcement for a level playing field between EU and non-EU manufacturers
Fujifilm invests in electronics
Defoaming buy in India PennWhite ’ s Indian subsidiary , PennWhite India , has acquired the defoamers business of Sicagen India . This includes IP rights and the existing business , but no assets or staff . The acquired business has particular expertise in defoamers for the fertiliser segment . UK-based PennWhite has been active in antifoam chemistry under the FoamDoctor brand for about 40 years .
DuPont revises restructure DuPont will accelerate the planned separation of its Electronics business with a target date of 1 November for completion . However , it no longer intends to separate its Water business . According to CEO Lori Koch , not selling Water provides “ greater strategic flexibility over time and another high growth business alongside Healthcare ”.
Fujiflm will spend about € 25 million to install new facilities for chemicalmechanical planarisation ( CMP ) and advanced semiconductor materials , and to enhance existing facilities for photolithography-related materials , at Zwijndrecht , Antwerp . It had previously added development , production and quality evaluation functions for advanced resists at Shizuoka , Japan , and Pyeongtaek , Korea and expanded CMP slurry facilities at Kumamoto , Japan .
The company said that the investment will create a global production network of six locations , including others in Taiwan and the US . It should thus ensure a more stable supply of CMP slurries , demand for which is forecast to grow at about 13 %/ year . Globally , Fujifilm plans to invest nearly € 1.1 billion over three years in both R & D and capital investment in semiconductor materials .
