Another season and another new element of the Official Programme to give us yet more insight into the top riders’ mindsets. At each round we are asking some of them what the WorldSBK scene means to them. This time it is Nicolo Bulega and WorldSSP contender, Tom Booth-Amos.

Un’ altra stagione e un altro nuovo argomento per il Programma Ufficiale, per farci entrare ancora meglio nella mentalità dei piloti di punta. Ad ogni round chiediamo ad alcuni di loro quale significato abbia la scena del WorldSBK. Questa volta si tratta di Nicolò Bulega e di Tom Booth-Amos uno dei concorrenti al titolo WorldSSP.
Nicolo Bulega- Aruba. It Racing Ducati WorldSBK
Unlike his big 2024 and now 2025 season rival Toprak Razgatlioglu, Niccolo Bulega is not a direct racing‘ product’ of the overall WorldSBK paddock. But after he showed up on a WorldSSP Ducati and won the title in his second year, he has been firing big calibre race results from the booming exhaust pipes of the WorldSBK Ducati too.
After his MotoGP™ career ended, and now the WorldSBK paddock has proved to be such fertile ground for him, what does this scene mean to Nicolo?
“ Honestly this is a nice and familiar paddock to me,” he stated in Phillip Island, just before winning all three Aussie races.“ When I was young, and I mean very young, my father had a team here in WorldSSP. So when I was born, I was already in this paddock! I went to MotoGP™ to race but when I came back here, it was not my first time here- it was my second time. First time as a rider, but not my first time!”
After some eventually tough times in the MotoGP™ paddock, is it fair to say that Bulega’ s induction into the WorldSBK paddock‘ saved his career?’ Or is that too strong a statement?“ For sure, it helped me a lot to bring back my happiness riding a bike. When I was in Moto2, especially the last two years, they were very difficult. I was not so happy to take my luggage and go to the airport … Now, every time I have to go on the bike, I am really happy and I want to enjoy all the nice moments that I am enjoying now. Also, this team helped me a lot to bring out my speed again.”
A differenza del suo grande rivale della stagione 2024 e ora 2025, Toprak Razgatlioglu, Nicolò Bulega non è un“ prodotto” diretto del paddock del WorldSBK. Dopo essersi presentato su una Ducati WorldSSP ed aver vinto il titolo nel suo secondo anno di partecipazione, ha ottenuto risultati di grande livello in gara anche nel WorldSBK, accompagnati dai boati proveniente dai potenti tubi di scarico della sua Ducati.
Dopo la fine della sua carriera in MotoGP™, e ora che il paddock del WorldSBK si è rivelato un terreno così fertile per lui, cosa significa per Nicolò questo scenario?
“ Sinceramente questo per me è un paddock piacevole e anche familiare”, ha affermato a Phillip Island poco prima di vincere tutte e tre le gare australiane.“ Quando ero giovane, e intendo molto giovane, mio padre aveva una squadra qui nel WorldSSP. Quindi si può dire che io sia quasi nato in questo paddock! Sono andato in MotoGP™ per correre, e quando sono tornato qui, non è stata la mia prima volta, ma la seconda. La mia prima volta come pilota, ma non la mia prima volta in assoluto!”
Dopo alcuni momenti difficili nel paddock della MotoGP™, è giusto dire che l’ ingresso di Bulega nel paddock del WorldSBK“ gli abbia salvato la carriera”? O è un’ affermazione troppo forte?“ Di sicuro, mi ha aiutato molto a ritrovare la felicità in sella ad una moto. Quando ero in Moto2, soprattutto negli ultimi due anni, sono stati momenti molto difficili. Non ero più contento di prendere i miei bagagli e di andare all’ aeroporto... Ora, ogni volta che devo salire in moto, sono davvero felice e voglio godermi tutti i bei momenti che sto vivendo. Inoltre, questa squadra mi ha aiutato molto a far emergere nuovamente la mia velocità”.
