THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION MYTH (ON THE ISSUE OF THE SOCIETY’S SELF-DETERMINATION
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF FUTURE)

Аннотация. Статья посвящена проблеме
самоопределения общества в эпоху
постмодернизма, восприятию современности
как переходного периода и формированию
образа будущего, которое влияет на стратегии
развития общества сегодня. В статье дается
философская критика концепта «цифровая
революция». Анализ происходящих в обществе
изменений позволяет сделать вывод, что развитие
современных технологий является продолжением
научно-технической революции середины
ХХ в., а не началом принципиально новой фазы
технологического развития. Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem

of postmodernism, the perception of modernity
as a transitional period and the formation of
the image of the future, which influences the
development strategy of society today. The
article criticizes the concept of the «digital
revolution». Analysis of the changes taking
place in the society allows us to conclude that
the development of modern technologies is a
continuation of the scientific and technological
revolution of the mid-twentieth century, but not
the beginning of a fundamentally new phase of
the technological development.
