A series of events that threaten to tear their romance apart ensue, such as him running into her boyfriend Jeff at her hotel room after her invitation; however, they manage to pull through and she announces her breakup with Jeff a few days later, having turned up at his doorstep in hopes of finding shelter from the ruthless paparazzi. Not long after, though, paparazzi discover their secret love affair, causing her to storm off furiously, blaming William for the situation and deserting him for a few seasons. Will they end up meeting again? How will they repair the fractured bond between them?
This is not an ordinary love story, as their already damaged relationship is threatened by several hurdles they have to surpass in order to get back together; and they do so in some unimaginably comical ways. The movie is named after the district where William’ s bookshop is located and it’ s a relatively old movie, having been released in 1999, so you won’ t have trouble finding it.
Now we’ ll move on to a film the older generation are bound to know of, 1968 American comedy film‘ The Party’. The main character, Indian actor Hrundi causes a terrible accident during set construction, halting the production of the film. He is immediately fired by the director that goes on to complain to the studio head, who inadvertently writes Hrundi’ s name on the guest list of his upcoming dinner party instead of blacklisting him as he’ d intended. That’ s when all the fun begins, mishap after mishap taking place before Hrundi even has the chance to step out of the car to go inside the location of the dinner. Just to give you a taste, his shoe instantly gets stained with mud and he runs to the pool to rinse it, only for him to have it served to him on a silver platter by a lofty waiter.
During the event, he gets to meet a famous Western movie actor and is even given an autograph. This … fortune, I would say is short – lived, as Hrundi accidentally shoots him with a water gun and runs for cover. He later tries to feed a caged bird, only to drop the birdfeed on the floor. He even fiddles with some electronics and other objects he should probably not be occupied with and ends up wreaking havoc at the dinner.
