Birds, the animals that rule the
sky, are outstanding for their giant
variety of different adaptations
and unique species and features.
That is the reason why birds
interest us, and that is the reason
we did this project. This project
is important to us because it will
help us
Question: Do birds
prefer sunflower or
sesame seeds?
Hypothesis:
If sesame seeds are native in
Colombia while sunflower seeds
are from other parts of the world,
then sesame seeds will be eaten
more because they are known to
the birds of this region.
Experiment Design and
Procedure
1. We build our bird feeder
2. We divided the house in two to
have one type of food in one side
and the other one in the other
understand birds and their
preference of food to be able to
give them the food they prefer
so that birds can be happier
when the life as pet. We will use
sesame and sunflower seeds.
There are two types of seeds that
are eatable by both human and
other different species of not
only birds but other kinds of
animals. We are going to work
on this variable because it is
interesting to know what types
of flavors, texture and taste do
birds prefer the most, after we do
all of this we are going to show
you what birds prefer between
two different seed; sunflower
seeds and sesame seeds.
Data Analysis and Conclusions
14 / Zasqua Jounal 2017
3. We took the house and
hanged it in a tree in our place
of experiment, ZASQUA
4. We filled the house with food
for the birds, measuring the
total amount of food we put
in millimeters
5. We came each other day to
check results, looking at how
much food is left
We will do our experiment by
making a bird feeder divided
into two, in one side we will put
one type of food and in the other
one we will put the other kind
of food. We will put the house
where we will do the experiment.
