The First Year
These words by the Rebbe brought great Simcha to those listening. They indicated that the Rebbe is ready to accept upon himself, the mantle of Leadership( Nessius).

SUNDAY, 22ND OF TEVES:
Tonight, Rabbi Yitzchak Goldin of Paris, came to Crown Heights. At 11:00 p. m. he came into 770 where he met different members of Anash and especially his friends Rabbi Levitin and Rabbi Jacobson. At 1:00 am he went into
Yechidus with the Rebbe which lasted for over a half-hour. When he came out he said,“ At the end of Yechidus the Rebbe gave out a big cry, saying,‘ We have to bring back the Rebbe( the Friediker Rebbe)!’”
TUESDAY, 24TH OF TEVES:
Today, all of Anash of the United States signed a letter of
Hiskashrus to the Rebbe to be handed to him this evening, on the Alter Rebbe’ s Yahrtzeit. For this special event many honorable Anash came from all over the USA. After Maariv, the special dignitaries and representatives came into the Rebbe’ s room to give him the letter in the name of all Anash. Everyone was very moved. The elder Chassidim who had the merit to see the Rebbe RaShaB and the Friediker Rebbe were especially moved at seeing the Rebbe receive the letter and asking,“ What do you want?”
They replied,“ We want to give this letter to the Rebbe.”
