The reason being that when the Rebbe has a will, there is no doubt that the desired outcome will be fulfilled! To illustrate this point the Rebbe then related a story about two
Chassidim of the Alter Rebbe:
“ One Chasid would always immediately do what the Rebbe told him, and only afterwards would he try to understand the reason behind it.
The second Chasid would first try to understand the reason, and then only afterwards would he do it.
“ Once, the Alter Rebbe sent a Shliach to them to collect money for Eretz Yisroel. The first one gave right away. The second Chasid waited until he traveled to the Alter Rebbe. Even then he waited before giving Tzedaka to see if he could discuss with the Alter Rebbe details regarding the request. But one can’ t go into the Rebbe right away. First one needs to go to the Mikveh and then one can have a
Yechidus if the Rebbe is available, etc.“ The end of the story was that the one who gave the Tzedaka right away, became very rich. The second Chasid was just barely able to make ends meet.”
“ The same applies today,” said the Rebbe.“ The Chasid is ready to do what he’ s told. But, first he has to ask his Kallah. Then his Michutanim. Then he’ ll go to the Mikvah. Then he’ ll wait for three days until Rabbi Chadokov gets him an appointment with the Rebbe. Really the Chasid shouldn’ t worry and contemplate. He should do it right away and then all the problems will solve themselves.”
