At the distribution of prizes in 1937 the Chairman of the Sailing Committee expressed regret at the reduced number of competitors and warned the youths that , in view of the incrusion of the fair sex into the spon . Ibey might find themselves replaced by girls . That . be said . reminded him of an incident where a girl in another club had acrewofboys who mutinied , possibly because their pals called them sissies for submitting to a petticoat command . 1be next time that boat was seen on the harbour she was manned entirely by girls ! lt is interesting to read a minute of 18 December
1924 in which it was reponcd that club members had subscribedsufncicnt money for lheclubto present to
HMAS Tlnglra ( a cadet training ship ) a Cadet dinghy for lhc use of lhe boys of Tingira . She was christened RAN . So much for a great class now some 65 years old and still going sll ' Ollg .
