Honourable Lord Stonebaven , PC . GCMG , DSO , Governor-General of Australia 1927 , for the 12-ft
Cadet Dinghy Interstate Championship .
Rangare , sailed by Archie Robenson , woo d1e first Stonehaven Cup for
Tasmania in 1927 .
The opponunity was there for interstate racing and the first race was conducted on the Derwent in
March l924 , between Ta .<; mania and ~ ew South Wales . The following year the championship was beld on Sydney Harbour . The Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron then became interested . followed by the Royal Queensland Yacht Club , the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and tl1e Royal Perth Yacht Club .
Since 1926 the control of Cadet dinghies has been in the hands of a Cadet Dinghy Management Committee . They were sailed in all States wilb
