A meeting held on 190ctober 1922hadresolved that ' recommendations be adopted and that the subcommittee be authorised to prepare contracis and give orders subject to confinnation of those who proposed to build '. On 9 November 1922 it was reponed lltat work on the dinghies had commenced , the cootrac1 hnving been let to Stewnn Sandeman of Careening Cove . In the meantime , boys were se · Jected and admitted to the club as associate members at a subscription of 1 Os 6d per annum . These boys were lectured on control of lhc boots , racing rules and the like .
The 12-fl class of Cadet dinghies , mrumed by boys between 10 and 19 years of age , first uppea1 ' ed at the Anniversary Regatta held on 26 January 1923 . Yachtsmen proclaimed the class an outstanding success .
The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron , the Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club and 1heSydney Amateur Sailing Club followed the lead and in the early pan
of 1924 there were 18 dinghies and 60 boys involved . Mr Wulters , a member of the Dinghy Management Committee , whilst on u visil to Hoban brought the dinghies to lhc auentioo of the Royal Yacht Club or Ta3mnnia who immediately built a fiee1 of dinghies to lhe originaLplans .
