Another item or imponancc occurred during 1975 . The club ' s Comminee had consisted or fifteen members : five Flug Orficersand ten Committeemeo . 11lis was considered somewhat unwieldy and on
13 Augus1 1975 the Commiuee sai , for the first time io many years , wi1h n Comminee of ten : five Flag Officers and five Comminee members .
Membenhip had reached 1860 in 1974 bw by 1976 it had declined 10 1808 . The Committee were not concerned , however , as there had never been any
desire to posh for mcmben . It has always been thought that the club should never crowd its facilities andarouod 1800seemstobeacomfonablemembcrsbip figure . New nominations were being received in goodnumbersundby 1977 membership was al 1861 . which was possibly a little high .
On 8 Juoe 1977 the first suggestions regarding twilight racing were pul forward .

proceed or noi . The General Committee concluded that in view of 1he growth potential of yachting in I . be Pittwater area , the level of application for new

Tendcn were called for the dredging of Crystal Bay and by Ouisunas I 9n lhe dredging was almos1 ready to commence . h had been agreed that the cost would be shared with neighbouring waterfront residenlS .
CommanderW . P . P . ox , RAN ( Rld ), wbohadbeen General Manager of the club ftom the end of 1977 , had relinquished his posi1ion by March 1978 . J . L . Gale hnd held the position of Yachting Secretary from 1970 . Ai thnitime he had had22 years ' service with the club . He was asked m sit in and take the minutes of a General Commiuee Meeting on 22 March 1978 , and he has been taking lhe minutes of the General Committee Meetings ever since ! Oo 26 April 1978 Mr Oale auendcd the General Commiuce Meeting as Secretary Manager , however the actual date of appointment to this position was 24 May 1978 . lhcre was a need for a larger capaciry slipyard to handle vessels of qui1e large tonnage . On 31 January 1979 it was proposed that a large slipway be built in Crystal Bay will \ a capacity of 40 ions . This was amended on 28 Morch IO 60 t < ms . This was a badly needed facility as a number of vessels belonging to club membelll had LO use commercial slipways some distance awuy .
The Committee was not entirely happy with the layoul of lhe Edinbu . rgh Bar . In January 1979 much
