discussion took place regarding alterations to the Edinburgh Bar and certain other modifications to the clubhouse . It was planned to create a new entrance to the bar through the Galatea Room nod 10 relocate the Galatea Room . The idea was then lo break up the long bar and build more suimble bars and cocktail bars .
Then : was also discussion regarding the location of the two billiard tables that had been brought up from Rowe Street when it was vacaied . In the original design of the Pinwater dining room an annex to the dining room had been established to provide for any overflow from the dining room or for use as a members ' dining room when the main dining room wus booked om for a function . There were only two areas for the billiard tables-- <: itl1er tl1c Yachtsman ' s Bar or the annex . The anne < was chosen as the helter of the two alternatives .
The placing of the billiard mbles in the dining room annex meam lhat there wa :. nowhere for members to dine when the dining room was booked out for a fonction . Members were forced to dine in the Edinburgh Bar which was not a very sarisfacrory solution . In addition to the need for a dining room annex there was also a need for a children ' s room . On 28 November 1979 it was decided that two rooms be bullt on the eastern side of the clubhouse . one to be the new billiard room and the other the children ' s room with occess from the lawns and Yachtsman ' s B0t as well os the Edinburgh Bor .
In 1982 . when the two rooms were "' ell under construction , it was realised what a wondelful view the new billiard room would have and theComminee decided to leave the billiard room where it was and use the new room for the dining room annex ( now called lhe Crystal Bay Room ). lt was considered that the billiard and snooker players were too intent on their gwnc lO worry about looking out of windows !
