On 2 I September J 972 J . L . Gale was appointed Assistalll General Manager of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Clu ~ Pinwate r Division .
On 30 October 1972 i1 was agreed that when Lbe Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club was removed from
39 Rowe Street the headquruters of the club should be transferred to Green Poim , Newport , and that the club known as the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Cl u ~ Pinwater Division be phased 0 111 .
The fo llowing year , l 973 , was a year of consolidation , taking a breath af1cr lhe hard work of the preceding years and setting a partem for the years ahead .
The only item of any consequence in 1974 was that of the club allowing the VolumeerCoaslal Patrol 10 move imo 1he firs1 lloor of ' Moon bar where they are still established . TI1ecluh wa .• now trading profitably and slowly solving its financial problems .
One sad evem was the loss ofComminee member I . H . Alsop ' s yacht CrmySark . Mr Alsop was bringing his yacht back from Swansea when he wasc > 1ught in a how Ling southerly . He and his crew were picked up by HMASSwa11 butunfortunately Cu try Sark was losL
By 1975 the club ' s finances were improving with a healthy surplus of funds . Tiie club was beginning to become 1be streamlined . efficient yacb1 club it is today .
In April 1975 , Sir Wllliam Northam provided his
OJyn1pjc- \ vinning yacht Barranjocy for display in the club ' s grounds . The yach1 was sec op in her cradle near the club ' s main entrance and remained there until 1984 when Sir William notified the club 1ha1 be had had a reques1 for Barra1rjoey to be located at the Sydney Maritime Museum .
