Immediately , the A1 and A2 searched for the cause of the problem and found the brass stem was also carrying click and guide . It was low enough to go unnoticed by the audience but needed to be stopped instantly . Muting the brass stem channel in the house solved one third of the issue , but monitors had to have brass stem muted on all eleven mixes plus the twin feeds to Aviom mixes for band and orchestra . Then broadcast had to be told over intercom where the source lay so it could be eradicated on the livestream as well . All these steps were taken within twenty seconds and the service proceeded without a hitch . However , if the team had not been tight and interdependent , the service might have been deeply impacted .
A solid , reliable team is the key element to success in any live event . All the gear in the world is useless if the people at the controls don ’ t ’ have each other ’ s back . Trust within the team is earned every time the leader takes the blame for a team error and gives credit to others for a team win . Respect is given when a young member applies themselves and earns Dante accreditation on their own . Comradery is built when the team enjoys a meal together and talks about things other than shop . And affinity blossoms when the team adopts a cause outside themselves by helping other ministries that are struggling .
In church tech , friends are more valuable than position , knowledge , skill or income since the role requires long , lonely hours toiling away in darkened obscurity . Surrounded by people of like mind and faith , there is nothing a tech team cannot achieve together .
