SEEK AFTER JESUS THIS CHRISTMAS | Chelsea Pribyl , FILO Chief Operations Officer

We are all currently staring Christmas straight in the face . The meetings are accelerating . The designs are taking shape . The problem solving is actively engaged . The long workdays are quickly approaching . And the stress and fear is quickly taking a hold in our lives and causing less solid sleep .
All of those things are in the name of producing life changing Christmas Eve services , Christmas day services , Christmas youth programs , Christmas pageants and more . But what if I told you that all of that was worthless if you didn ’ t do it in tandem with God ?
God does not long for us to create and produce experiences only for other people ’ s benefit . He longs for us to know Him , believe in Him and experience Him in this season .
Your work this Christmas is not just for others . It is for you too .
Advent is designed to prepare our hearts for this Christmas season . You might have a tradition of candle lighting , fasting , prayer or communion . I would encourage you to consider also participating in the FILO Advent devotional that ’ s written specifically for you .
Choose to form a habit in the weeks ahead . Create moments of still and quiet to focus your mind and your heart on the importance of Christ in your life , celebrate the coming of His son and look forward to the future of His second coming . When we walk through our days more intentionally and in tandem with the Lord , we are able to see His miracles and experience His peace more readily .
When I long to remember or stay focused on something , I find that having it in front of my face is incredibly helpful . Consider writing the following words by Ann Voskamp on a Postit note in your car or your bathroom mirror or create wallpaper for your phone or laptop so that you see these words often :
“ I want a Christmas that whispers ‘ Jesus ’.”

Chelsea Pribyl Between having worked in the technical arts for a decade at Willow Creek Community Church and now being married to an audio engineer , Chelsea easily relates to the church tech arts community . In 2016 , Chelsea realized that serving at FILO was exactly where God wanted her . She has a strong passion for training and equipping the FILO Community and her heart explodes when they all gather together and worship at events .
In her spare time , Chelsea enjoys eating at new gourmet restaurants with her husband , marathon shopping trips with her sister and snuggles with her pups .
