[ Steve ] No. That would not be appropriate, but they were cool.
[ WM ] So with the current technology, do you think you could have cut that video on an iPhone?
[ Steve ] Probably.( laughing) We shot on 35 millimeter( it might have been 16) but yeah, even pulling all the things together, it was still expensive. Wow!
[ Steve ] No, it was there from the beginning, but if I played you the demo, it sounded almost like a dirge. It was much slower. It was kind of melancholy, and it just sounds very different from what we ended up with.

[ WM ] Right on. Okay … looking back on the Squint Entertainment record label days …
[ Steve ] Yes.
[ WM ] Tell us what it was like having that fun and hugely successful quirky song“ Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer on your label? I heard that you guys almost didn’ t put it on the record?
[ Steve ] And you know, usually in those situations, it’ s the band’ s record. So if they don’ t want to do it … it’ s like their call. In this case, I said,“ Hey man, just kind of trust me on this one. Let’ s just see how it goes.” And so, Matt was okay to keep trying.
Matt’ s a fantastic songwriter, but the original lyrics were not what they ended up being. And so, Matt let me kind of grade the lyrics and just like cross things out. And I mentioned you need
