us at the beginning. This was back when digital
wasn’t what it is, and we were just looking for
people to distribute our physical CDs, so we
created a label. We did that because Kim and
Chris were with us and I didn’t want them to
have to go into the machine, so I thought we
should build something for them. So we put
something together and started putting some
of these albums out, and then the music labels
would come and say they’re interested, but
they want both our physical and digital rights.
I would tell them they can’t have our digital, we
don’t need help with that and they’d say that
they couldn’t do it otherwise, and I’d say, “Okay,
we’re good”. Our goal is not to become famous,
our goal is not to sell a bunch of albums, it was
all part of trying to mobilize a generation. That
kind of took off, and eventually we made some
great partnerships and relationships in the
music world. But that’s kind of the small story.
