[ Jack ] This is a guitar that can comfortably go from the couch to the stage . It is a fantastic tool for songwriting and particularly nice for helping lyrics along . Once the song is written , it is eminently capable of helping the musician send their message . It will appeal to players and worship leaders that are looking for an understated but stylish instrument to convey their message . A non-pickup version is available with a MAP of $ 499 which is an amazing songwriting tool . At the end of the day for PRS , it ’ s about the sound , and we could not be happier with these guitars .
[ WM ] A lot of our worship guitarist readers may not be familiar with the role you have played at PRS all these years working with Christian artists . From Third Day , Casting Crowns , Skillet and many more bands , you have been their liaison at PRS guitars . Tell us how that came about and how those relationships have been an encouragement to you personally ?
[ Jack ] This is going to be a hard one to answer in a short way . In the early 2000 ’ s , I was listening a lot to CCM . My kids and my wife were always on the hunt for new bands , and I sometimes used the messages in the songs for a teen Sunday School class I taught . PRS at that time did not have an A & R branch that dealt with CCM , so I took that on as a passion project .
I basically just reached out to the bands that I was listening to and drove to concerts and festivals to see if there was a way that PRS could help support their efforts . Eventually we found ourselves working with just about every band I was listening too . Third Day was the first band I met with . Conspiracy No . 5 was , and is , one of my favorite records . Mark and Mac and their tech Brian all quickly became friends .
Casting Crowns was another band I was listening to a lot , and I reached out to Hector early on . We started working with Skillet when Ben Kasica was playing guitar along with Korey . Underdog from Audio Adreneline was such a great record , and Tyler Burkum was fantastic to work with .
