THE VENUE

3

The Stade de Genève (also known as Stade de Servette) will be the host venue for the WorldVision anniversary celebration.

Located in Lancy, a municipality just south of the main city of Geneva, the Stade began construction in 2001, was opened on April 30, 2003 and can hold a capacity of over 30,000 spectators, which is perfect for an event of this magnitude. It is the home field of Geneva's Servette FC football club in the Swiss Challenge League.

Since its opening, it has played host to several international football and rugby friendlies, most notably in 2005 between Argentina and England, and in 2006 between Brazil and New Zealand. A 2006-07 Heineken Cup rugby clash was also staged here.

In 2008, the stadium was one of the host venues of Group A match play during the UEFA Euro Cup, a memorable match between Turkey and the Czech Republic among them. In 2014, the National League A Winter Classic will take place at the stadium, the featured teams being Genève Servette HC and Lausanne HC.

WorldVision delegations and fans can expect a great night of celebration and amazing performances at the Stade, and the host team will be working hard to deliver the best show possible.
