Welcome to Geneva!
The second largest city in Switzerland and the birthplace of Eurovision is thrilled to be hosting the first WorldVision anniversary show, which is celebrating 20 editions of bringing the world together through music.
The city of Geneva is the capital city of the canton of Geneva and the most populous of the Romandy region, the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Home to many international organizations (such as the Red Cross, the World Health Organization as well as the European Broadcasting Union) and a major financial center, it has come to be known as the "Peace City".
The theme of our show tonight is "Light Up The World", inspired by a song of the same name by the cast of the TV show Glee during its second season finale. It is our hope that this theme will inspire the WorldVision artists, delegations and fans participating in the show to express themselves through creativity and to inspire others. Music has no boundaries, and is not just a form of creative expression, but also a universal language.
