Jasmine Blanks, Changing the Lives of Liberia’s Youth.
It is without a doubt a proud moment for me to announce a highly successful journey to Liberia for Jasmine Blanks, the founder of Burning Barriers, Building Bridges Youth Theatre (B4YT). It was early this year that I met with Jasmine and discovered the courage and heart of passion she has for teaching and changing the lives of the youth in Liberia. There is some folks that talk about it but Jasmine is about it. She gets to work and does the thing. She recently celebrated her 28th birthday prior to travel to Liberia for the summer to encourage and inspire the people both young and old over there. I kept appraised via her web-blog posting. While Jasmine was over there WOCP TV aired on Cable here in Brooklyn, New York her full interview (click here to see it) The children and the program once again performed before the Elite dignitaries and President Sirleaf-Johnson. The President highly esteems the work and the children crediting them with restoring a lost art form for Liberia. Jasmine, so proud of YOU.
