Volume 1, Issue 5 Page 29 Women Who Inspire Greatness In Me & Others Without a doubt my mother, Delores Maxine Houser Collins is my greatest inspiration. Though I lost my mom when I was an adolescent and she never got see the woman I have grown to be, I feel her presence in every way. My mother was a single mother of five, worked two and three jobs to keep us feed, roof covered and well dressed. Her struggle seeming never ended and she fought through physical sickness, broken heartedness and poverty with class. She did the best she could with what she had and often sacrificed so we could have more. I learned a lot from her in the short time I had with her. I know I am great mother because I had a great mom. She allow me to be me, to freely express myself, creatively, to clearly articulate as well confront issues, to stand up for myself. These are traits I passed on to my son and daughter. It is my son, Emon and daughter, Eden that inspire greatness in me the most. They are 22-months apart and have only live half as long as me but nonetheless they encourage me to be better than my best. Through every adversity, trial and error they stand solidly beside me often urging me on. We have endured some rough spaces but as a family unit we are rock steady. Emon, is a man after God’s heart and he is so going in after it. I know God will greatly reward. Eden is my armor bearer where Emon is my warrior a perfect balance. So, I could not write this issue or section without including these who inspire my life beyond anything or anyone else I know except God.
