1. They are unrealistic. I’ll have none
of that good, modern CGI, thank you.
The lack of, in OHM ensures the
disbelief and disconnection with
reality that allows you to distance
yourself from fear, and therefore, you
spend more time laughing over the
ridiculousness of it, rather than
crying behind the couch.
2. The actors are wonderful. They put
so
much
feeling
into
their
performances- sometimes too much,
which adds to the overall feel of
OHMs. And their voices are so
beautifully static by the pre-modern
technology that makes you feel all
classical.
3. The blood! Possibly the best part. I
don’t know if they added too much
tomato to their sauce, but there’s
something a bit too red about the
blood that makes it slightly comical. I
just love it. And it’s never overly
gruesome, so you can ensure that
you won’t need a bucket. Unless you
are at Carrie White’s prom.
4. Black and white. If you are lucky
enough to nab a really old one, like
