[ WM ] It sounds like you wear many hats there on staff . What are your other roles and responsibilities ?
[ Debi ] Yes , many hats ! One of my main roles is working directly alongside and supporting our worship pastor Logan Pringle . He ’ s the absolute best ! We work together in creating song lists for Sunday and everything involving our teams for Sundays and other events at our church . I schedule singers for our Sunday services and lead vocal rehearsals and he manages the bands . It works really well . I ’ m also involved in leading worship and scheduling worship teams for our Women ’ s Ministry , which I absolutely love !
I run our worship ministry social media Instagram and Facebook accounts , mentor some of our young adult and high school worship leaders and do all of the nerdy administration things that speak my love language of organization . Ha ! More than anything , I get to serve our worship community which is one of the greatest passions in my life . They bless my life tremendously !
[ WM ] Do you do any session vocals too ? Tell us about that side of your vocal life .
[ Debi ] I ’ ve been doing vocal sessions regularly in Nashville for the past 25 + years . I love studio work and creating background vocal arrangements . I ’ ve had the joy to sing on albums for Celine Dion , Ben Rector , CeCe Winans , Jeremy Camp , Josh Groban , Lauren Daigle , One Republic , Michael W . Smith , Michael McDonald , Reba McEntire , Donny McClurkin , Natalie Grant and many others . I ’ ve done vocal sessions for Disney , the Bollywood Awards , Women of Faith , NFL Draft LIVE , movies and TV and for video game companies . I ’ ve also done a lot of choral session work for various publishers ( Word , Lifeway , Brentwood Benson , etc .) and it ’ s greatly sharpened my sight-reading ability . Most sessions I do are in studios around Nashville but since setting up my own home recording room , I do a lot of sessions remotely now for writers , producers ,
and artists from all over the world . I absolutely love it !
[ WM ] Have you toured with or been a live background vocalist for any artists ?
[ Debi ] I ’ ve sung live background vocals for Michael W . Smith , Mandisa , Don Moen , Michael McDonald , Christopher Cross , The Gettys , Tommy Walker , the Judds and many others .
[ WM ] Besides your church , where else have you led worship ?
[ Debi ] I ’ ve led worship for Beth Moore ’ s Living Proof LIVE conferences , toured as a worship leader for Stormie Omartian ( speaker and author of the Power of A Praying series of books ), Extraordinary Women conferences , the National Worship Leader Convention , National
Day of Prayer and in other churches and worship events across the country .
[ WM ] Do you have a home music room or studio ?
[ Debi ] Yes . I have a Pro Tools recording setup in one of the rooms of my house .
[ WM ] Can you list three worship albums that inspire your own worship singing ?
[ Debi ] CeCe Winans Believe For It ( I sang on this live video recording and it was one of the most anointed nights of worship I ’ ve ever been a part of ), Kirk Franklin LONG LIVE LOVE , Tasha Cobbs Leonard Heart , Passion , Pursuit : Live at Passion City Church .
