The journey to parenthood is deeply personal and often complex. Whether through fertility treatments, adoption or traditional pregnancy, Cox offers inclusive, generous benefits that empower employees to grow their families with confidence and care.

From fertility support through Progyny, to adoption assistance and gender-neutral paid parental leave, our benefits are designed to meet employees where they are — regardless of gender, sexual orientation or marital status. Every path to parenthood deserves support, and all employees deserve time to bond with their growing family.

FERTILITY SUPPORT

For Ashleigh Harris, a manager in business process design and improvement at Cox Communications, the journey to parenthood began with a decision to freeze her eggs. But that decision evolved into something much more life-changing, thanks to our Progyny fertility benefit.

“I wanted to preserve the option of having children someday,” she said. “But as I learned more, I realized that fertilizing the eggs to create embryos would give me a better chance. That’s when my journey truly began.”

For employees and their spouse or domestic partner enrolled in the Cox Medical Plan through Aetna, Progyny provides access to customized treatment plans for procedures like egg freezing, in vitro fertilization and more. Personal care assistants help coordinate appointments and offer unlimited clinical and emotional support throughout the process.

“The customer care advocates at Progyny are kind, knowledgeable and patient,” Ashleigh said. “I asked a lot of questions, and they never made me feel like I was a burden or wasting their time.”

PARENTAL LEAVE FOR EVERY PARENT

For Jane Langland, a corporate communications manager at Cox Automotive, planning for maternity leave was a seamless experience. “From the start, Cox made the process of preparing for leave so easy. Everything was clear and straightforward, which meant I could focus on my high-risk pregnancy without stressing about logistics.”

Our paid parental leave is gender-neutral and available to all parents, including those who welcome a child by birth, adoption or fostering. Eligible employees receive eight weeks of paid leave, which can be taken in one-week increments within the first year of the child’s birth. This leave runs concurrently with Family and Medical Leave and can be combined with child bonding time and short-term disability for birth parents.

Steven Wright, Cox Automotive

Steven Wright, a senior manager in creative production for Cox Automotive, said the time spent with his wife and first child was invaluable and deeply meaningful for his family. “I was there for every moment,” he said. “Supporting my wife through recovery and embracing the chaos of new parenthood was a gift I’ll never forget.”

A CULTURE OF SUPPORT AND CONNECTION

For Ashleigh, opening up about her experience led to unexpected connections and inspiration for others. “Several women sent me messages to tell me how my story inspired them,” she said. “I met with them to answer any questions and give them hope.”

Jane echoed that sentiment, encouraging others to embrace the resources available during this special season of life. “To other expectant mothers, lean fully into Cox’s benefits and into your team’s support.”

THINKING ABOUT ADOPTION?

Adoption is a beautiful way to grow a family, but it can be expensive. Our adoption assistance benefit helps ease the financial burden.

Eligible full-time employees can receive:

This benefit can also be used to legally adopt family members or stepchildren, making it a flexible and inclusive option for many types of families.
