“ I ’ ve always wanted something that was modern , classic and fun ,” says natural-bornwedding-planner Ashlee . Locking in The Lussh set the tone while Pinterest , Instagram , planning websites , and Google Slides helped hone the final vision . This wedding weekend was brimming with note-to-self ideas . “ I loved the idea of creating a wedstival ( wedding & festival ),” says the bride . “ We had dinner for 100 with bride & groom trivia at the Pig & Whistle on Friday , the wedding on Saturday , the after-party in West End , and the Sunday Session at our hotel common area . We also hired the Kombi Photo Booth for the cocktail party which added to the vibe .” When it came to dressing her six bridesmaids , Ashlee knew she didn ’ t want a ‘ block ’ look . “ I went with a mix of Champagne colours with dresses that best
suited each of them ,” she says . Love . The day itself was packed with stand-out details , starting with a cute speakeasy entrance at The Lussh . “ My parents built the ‘ bakery ’ facade wall and added ‘ McGojlo ’ ( Ashlee McElligott + Travis Dragojlo ),” says Ashlee . Guests were greeted by actors dressed as bakers . And the entry passcode ? All You Knead Is Love . When the newlyweds slipped away for sunset photos at Highgate Hill , guests enjoyed cocktail hour and canapés before delicious grazing platters at the reception . Other crowd-pleasing elements included custom fortune cookie namecards , a video guest book , and the delivery of 100 Cheeseburgers at 9.30 pm ! “ It was a highlight for many guests and kept everyone partying till very late ,” laughs Ashlee . queenslandbrides . com . au 55
