CANCERCAUSING FOODS: It Is the Inside What Matters "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” -Winston Churchill There was a man who made a living selling balloons at a fair. He had all colors of balloons, including red, yellow, blue, and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled balloon into the air and when the children saw it go up, they all wanted to buy one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon, and his sales would go up again. He continued this process all day. One day, he felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned around and saw a little boy who asked, "If you release a black balloon, would that also fly?" Moved by the boy's concern, the man replied with empathy, "Son, it is not the color of the balloon, it is what is inside that makes it go up." Is Reading In Our Blood? 1. Hot Dogs: They are high in nitrates. Children should not eat more. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate. 2. The saturated fat can cause cancer. -Tasneem Ataullah Reading habits differ even within the same family. While I am an avid reader of books ranging from fictions to volumes of novels and presently ideological books, my sister dreads even the basic of these. And this proves, reading is a habit which is to be inculcated within and carries no misconception of genes or hereditary lineage, provided someone is trained from the earlier days. As this inclination varies from person to another, so does its consequence. It would be utter foolishness to compare a well-read person to the opposite. Undoubtedly there remains no comparison between a student or an individual who entertains good command on language and knowledge, from that of those who don’t. And the storehouse of this well-being is compiled in the shape of books. Families and communities which nurture the habit of reading among their youngsters flourish by time; An adult in the Middle East reads on an average a quarter of a page a year compared to an American adult who reads around 11 books, or a British adult, who reads about 7. The average Middle Eastern child reads only “six minutes” a yea r in comparison to Western children who average around 12,000 minutes a year! Confucius states, “No matter how busy you may think you are, you must find time for reading, or surrender yourself to self-chosen ignorance.” 2 3. Doughnuts: Doughnuts are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts are the worst food to raise the risk of cancer. 4. French Fries: Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer-causing acryl amides during the frying process. They are Cancer Fries, not French Fries. 5. Chips, Crackers, and Cookies: These are made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain transfats. .
