MONTHLY JOURNAL OF
LIFE SKILLS
Poor to Rich to Poor
Sulaiman Al-Rajhi is Saudi Arabia’s
rags-to-riches billionaire. He is the
founder of Al-Rajhi Bank, the largest
Islamic bank in the world. He is one of
the top richest persons in the world
and
the
world’s
leading
philanthropists.
Al-Rajhi made his
fortunes from scratch, relying on grit
and determination. He had to fight
poverty and suffering during his
childhood
before
becoming
a
billionaire through hard work and
relentless efforts.
Such a great billionaire suddenly
chose to become a poor man at his
own will without having any wealth that
he owned earlier. He became
penniless after transferring all his
assets among his children and for
charity.
Al-Rajhi succeeded in convincing
chiefs of the leading central banks in
the world, nearly 30 years ago that the
Islamic banking is the most effective
solution to boost the global economy.
Can you believe Al-Rajhi is still very
active and hardworking even in his
80s with youthful spirits? He begins
his work daily early morning after
prayer and is active until night. His
achievements are the world’s largest
Islamic bank, the largest poultry farm
in the Middle East, organic farming,
real estate and other investment
projects.
It is a great lesson for us to learn
about simplicity of life.

pain.
“I can accept failure, everyone fails at
something. But I can’t accept not trying.”
– Michael Jordan.
Our life is simple, but we tend to complicate things by over thinking and over
reacting. Discussion in cordial atmosphere and mutual respect for others will set
most of the things right, but we choose to have a heated debate increasing the
tension further.
This is a life history of an excellently successful
man, who rose from failures. One day a partially
deaf four-year-old kid came home with a note in his
pocket from his teacher, “Your Son is too stupid to
learn. Get him out of the school.” His mother
determined, “My son is not too stupid to learn. I will
teach him myself”.
How many of us understand what the power of a simple and hearty smile can lead
to? No matter how tough a person seems from the outside, everyone has a soft side
somewhere deep within themselves. A smile will trigger that soft side and will
reduce the tension altogether.
Do you know that stupid and deaf man became one
of the greatest geniuses in this world? He is
Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison had only three
months of formal schooling and he was partially
deaf.
–Basreen Peer Mohamed
A smile can trigger positive signals to others. It will make people like you
instantly. You will be considered friendly. Smile and see the change for yourself.
Above all, do you know smile comes free of cost? Absolutely free!

All great success stories are stories of great failures
in the beginning. Failure is the stepping stone for
success. Failure is a learning curve to build a
fabulous future. Do you know whenever you fail you
need to bounce back with renewed enthusiasm and
great determination to succeed?
