between hospitality and excellence, and that everyone is in the business of making others happy.
The next segment of the Leadership Session featured representatives from across the Larry H. Miller Company platforms and businesses, who shared examples of how they and their teams strive to show“ unreasonable hospitality” to their customers, guests and patients.
Stephen James
Todd Smith, president of Swig, shared stories of Swig employees who went the extra mile to celebrate and care for their customers, and Stephen James,
Chief Visioning Officer at Larry H. Miller Real Estate, spoke about how each decision made when designing a community is meant to spark joy. Together, their examples showed how unreasonable hospitality already lives across the LHM enterprise.
Attendees put this year’ s Summit theme into action with a handson service project with Wasatch Adaptive Sports( WAS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to making outdoor recreation more accessible to people with disabilities to improve their physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
Before dividing into teams to build the adaptive sports gear, Summit attendees heard from Wyatt Shipp and his father, Nate, who shared the difference WAS has made in their lives. Teams left the project and the Summit with a clearer view of what it truly means to be a builder and saw how a single afternoon of service can have a lasting impact.
