In March, Real Salt Lake Vice President of Community and Player Engagement Kyle Schroeder was recognized for his growing leadership in both local and national community initiatives.
Kyle was selected as an honorary commander through the Hill Air Force Base Honorary Command program. Working directly under Colonel Daniel Cornelius, the program is a unique opportunity designed to strengthen community connection between military leadership and civilian outposts. In this role, Kyle gains first-hand insight into various missions and daily operations at the iconic Utah base, while also helping introduce service members to the impact of community engagement
through sports. Kyle’ s work will continue building meaningful, twoway relationships, an effort that began years ago with events like the Commanders Cup soccer charity initiative.
In addition, Schroeder was chosen as one of eight representatives on Major League Soccer’ s newly formed Community Relations Advisory Board. Meeting twice monthly, the group collaborates to share best practices, shape new initiatives and ensure the 30-year-old League stays closely connected to community-level impact. By elevating local insights to the national stage, Schroeder is helping MLS grow its philanthropic reach and effectiveness while raising the bar for RSL. His involvement reflects a deep commitment to service, collaboration and using sports and entertainment as a force for good.

Members of the Larry H. Miller Company recently joined the NAACP Salt Lake Branch to celebrate MLK Day and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. The annual Martin Luther King Jr. luncheon, held on January 19, brought together community leaders, students and partners who are working to advance equity, opportunity and justice in Utah.
This year’ s program recognized community leaders who lead with courage and a spirit of service. It also continued a tradition that now spans more than 25 years: awarding the $ 5,000 Larry H. Miller Scholarship to a local student who exemplifies academic excellence and a strong commitment to community.
