Bees Kids Clinic Teaches
Valuable Baseball Skills
Being a member of the Bees Kids Club comes
with some serious perks. From T-shirts to
discounts to special offers, there’s plenty to
enjoy, but quite possibly, the most exciting perk
is the chance to attend Player Clinics. At these
events, Bees players instruct and encourage
Bees Kids Club members on baseball skills,
techniques, and fundamentals. Children who
joined the club had opportunities to participate
in clinics held in June, July, and August.
For many kids, it was a dream come true to
step onto the field at Smith’s Ballpark and hear
their heroes shouting praise from across the
field as kids worked on pitching, hitting, and
catching. There’s nothing better than playing
America’s pastime with the local pros. The Bees
Kids Clinic will once again be available next
summer for kids who want to catch a glimpse of
real baseball in action. ◆
NEW MEXICO
Paws, Stripes, and
Service in Albuquerque
Helping the Community
Continually, our organization goes above and beyond to showcase
Larry H. Miller’s dream of “going about doing good until there’s too
much good in the world.” Recently, employees from Larry H. Miller
American Toyota presented $20,000 to Paws and Stripes and the American
Foundation for Suicide Prevention New Mexico. Together with Toyota
Motor Sales, U.S.A., this check was presented at the dealership on June 27
in honor of National PTSD Awareness Day.
Paws and Stripes works to provide service dogs to military veterans
dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and brain injuries. By
integrating service dog training and mental health support, they saw a 31.7
percent overall drop in PTSD/TBI symptoms for those in the program
in 2017. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention focuses on
creating prevention programs and public education about suicide. This
organization is based in grassroots work and donations and will use
the donation from Larry H. Miller organizations to create educational
programs in their community. ◆
Albuquerque has a high veteran population, so the help is greatly appreciated.
