The Gail Miller Leadership Cup
On September 10th, more than 200 golfers joined together to raise
money for Salt Lake Community College in the 6th Annual Gail Miller
Leadership Cup. Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is a longtime
recipient of support and donations from Gail and the Miller family. Gail,
who is the trustee emeritus for the SLCC Board of Trustees, attended the
event, along with a number of other Utah notables.
The event itself was a team event, with 53 different teams, more
than the event had hosted before. Due to the massive support from The
Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation and other major sponsors,
the Cup was able to bring in an incredible record $320,000 for student
scholarships.
This kind of support means a
lot to the students and community
and allows the school to continue
toward its goal. In the words of
Clint Ensign, current chair of the
Board of Trustees, “The staff and
faculty are so committed to lifting
the lives of these students, and
many of them are first-generation
students. These students have a ton
of class, and they’re doing great
things with their lives.” ◆
