Your “GiveUs Five” Donations at Work
A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in June, July, and August
Your donations to Larry H. Miller Charities
strengthen the communities around us by
benefiting 501(c)(3) nonprofit programs
that assist women and children in the areas of
health and education.
In Arizona, a grant in Phoenix supported
health and nutrition education for Latino
children (Esperança). Funding in Tucson
provided diapers to children in need (Diaper
Bank of Southern Arizona) ), as well as
nutrition therapy to children who struggle
to eat (Nourish).
Contributions in California helped a
residential program for homeless and fostercare
girls (Inspire Life Skills Training) and
supplied school clothes to low-income students
(Corona-Norco Settlement House).
Donations made in Denver, Colorado,
assisted homeless families (Bridge of Hope and
Denver Rescue Mission) and offered financial
assistance to low-income scouts (BSA Denver
Council). Funding also improved a playground
used by at-risk kids attending Head Start
preschool (Ability Connection Colorado).
Through Give Us Five donations, Idaho
youth who are organ transplant recipients
attended a youth summer camp (National
Kidney Foundation of Utah and Idaho), and
low-income families facing eviction received
rental assistance (The Jesse Tree). A grant was
also given for clothing, nutrition, mental health
counseling, and support services for at-risk
teens (Astegos).
LHM Dealerships New Mexico participated
in a school supply drive to help students
in need, and LHM Charities contributed
to Albuquerque Public Schools Education
Foundation in support of the cause.
Funding granted in Spokane, Washington,
provided beds for children who have none
(Sleep in Heavenly Peace), benefited homeless
women and young adults
(Spokane Neighborhood Action
Partners), and supported
Greater Spokane County Meals
on Wheels.
Utah donations assisted
an after-school program for
teen refugees (Refugee and
Immigrant Center) and a
STEAM-based program for
schools (Discovery Gateway
Children’s Museum). Grants
provided medical equipment to
children (Ability Found), shoes for students in
need (United Way of Eastern Utah), and dental
care for kids in low-income families (Salt Lake
Donated Dental Services). Many other charities
benefited as well, such as Friends of Cache
County Children’s Justice Center, The Happy
Factory, Toys for Tots, Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Utah, and more.
