September 24 , 2023 – Earlier this year , Esperanza Elementary a local elementary school in West Valley , Utah was burglarized . The Academia Mis Raíces , the school ’ s mariachi
band , had many of their instruments stolen . They were invited to perform at the Salt Lake Bees Abejas Night and were presented with a $ 5,000 donation from the Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation to help replace the stolen equipment .
September 21 , 2023 – Alex Dunn , Vivint co-founder and now managing partner of the Larry H . Miller Company , was named a Lifetime Achievement honoree from Utah Valley Business Q , a quarterly publication for business leaders in Utah Valley . At the award ceremony , Alex spoke to the UV50 crowd about the strength of Utah — and how we only stand where we do because of the great leaders who have come before .
September 16 , 2023 – Residents celebrated all that ’ s great about Daybreak with live music , lots of food trucks , pedal karts , giveaways — even a ninja course at Daybreak-A- Palooza . Attendees also took a look at some of the homes Daybreak has to offer , including plenty of move-in-ready homes , 20 + model homes to tour , and more . From chalk art to homes to high-fives , it was a celebration of all that ’ s new , now and next at Daybreak .
September 9 , 2023 – The Major Brent Taylor Leadership Legacy Foundation took family members of fallen war heroes to participate in national memorial events at Fort Moore to honor the anniversary of September 11 . The Gold Star Families in Utah also visited the Global War on Terrorism Memorial in Georgia .

August 21 , 2023 – Daybreak in South Jordan , Utah was ranked in the Top 50 Master-planned Communities mid-year 2023 report by RCLCO Real Estate Consulting . Daybreak was Utah ’ s only new home community on this list . It ’ s clear that Daybreak is the place to be .
August 18 , 2023 – In 2023 , the Larry H . & Gail Miller Family Foundation donated over $ 1 million dollars to various domestic violence awareness organizations in both city and rural areas to aid in supporting domestic violence survivors .
In August , the YCC Family Crisis Shelter in Ogden , Utah broke ground on a new transitional housing complex to help house domestic violence survivors and their families with help from a donation from the Family Foundation . The project is expected to finish in early 2024 .
August 16 , 2023 – Julie Ramos , managing director of the Miller Family Office , was a speaker at the 2023 Utah Grant Professionals Association Conference at the “ Understanding Funding from the Philanthropists ’ Perspective ” panel . She and four other panelists provided an opportunity for grant writers and fundraisers to learn firsthand from donors on writing efficient and effective grants to maximize impact on their various communities and build better relationships with donors .
July 18 , 2023 – Gail Miller was the keynote / devotional speaker at SUPer DUPer Day , an event honoring the sons and daughters of Utah pioneers who settled the Salt Lake Valley in the 1800s . In sharing stories from her childhood , Gail illustrated the important lessons that can be learned from family ancestry and history .
