Since August , Larry H . Miller Charities has contributed $ 245,000 that has benefited women and children in Utah .
Donations to the Center for Grieving Children and The Sharing Place are providing support services to families of children who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death , divorce or separation . Survivors of abuse and violence are receiving mental health therapy with help from a grant to Intermountain Specialized Abuse Treatment Center ( ISAT ). Funding contributed to Family Healthcare is providing essential prenatal care to underinsured and uninsured pregnant women in southern Utah .
Programs that help Utah teens also received support . A donation to Fathers & Families Coalition of Utah is allowing underserved youth to learn skills that will help them succeed in the workforce . Funding was also granted to Stone of Hope Youth , a nonprofit that mentors boys and teens who may be exposed to gang recruitment or who struggle to stay in school .
Guadalupe School received a grant for early childhood education programs that assist children experiencing poverty . A donation to Playworks
Utah is helping students at Title I schools develop healthy social , emotional and physical behaviors during recess . Funds contributed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County are supporting after-school programs that benefit underserved children , while a donation to And Justice For All is providing free legal assistance to low-income families of children with developmental , learning or mental health disabilities . Through a contribution to Tabitha ’ s Way , 180 shoes coats will be donated to women and children in need
LHM Charities is supporting a Utah Metropolitan Ballet community outreach program that provides free performances to families of children with autism . Women in crisis situations and their children are also invited . A donation to Salt Lake Acting Company is funding an arts education program that reaches numerous Title I schools in the Salt Lake and Granite School Districts . Elementary school students will be able to attend a professional musical theater production based on a popular children ’ s book .
A donation to Fit to Recover will help individuals recovering from substance abuse by creating a community of peers that participate in physical activity and provide support and fellowship .
